The Vault, also referred to as The Box, is a massive floating structure created by the Combine before the completion of the Citadel. Located deep within the Quarantine Zone, an area of City 17 that is under lockdown and separated from the rest of the city, it is an important and highly kept secret structure to the Combine, and the purpose of the Vault is one of the major plot points of Half-Life: Alyx.

The G-Man is an enigmatic and mysterious character that appears in nearly every title of the Half-Life series. Referred to as a "sinister interdimensional bureaucrat," he is known to display peculiar behavior and wield reality-bending powers.
Джи-мэн — ключевой, но таинственный персонаж серии Half-Life. Называемый «зловещим межпространственным бюрократом», он имеет особенности поведения и возможности, стоящие за пределом человеческих. Его личность и мотивы остаются по-прежнему неизвестными. Он играет роль надсмотрщика и, в конечном счёте, работодателя, наблюдая за Гордоном Фрименом и другими персонажами по мере развития серии. В первой части серии и аддонах носил с собой портфель с логотипом Черной Мезы желтого цвета.

She is the main antagonist throughout Portal and the first half of Portal 2's single-player campaign. As the overseer and highest of authorities of the Enrichment Center, GLaDOS resides in the Central AI Chamber.
